Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is an advanced area of vision inspection than can be used to check that specific markings (characters) or features are present and correctly positioned.

Typically OCR is used to checks to see product markings are correct.  Vision OCR is used in combination with other technology modules such as laser marking to ensure that the laser marking that is carried out is correct and to a readability level that is acceptable.
